June 2011
Diagnosed with cancer of the Prostate....probably caused by a few  cancer cells being left behind in the original Operation.
July  2011  November 2011

Pet scans, CT Scans, MRI's and other tests to confirm and assess the Diagnosis.  Also Lymphoma diagnosed
Assessment confirms that Melbourne's Peter Mac Cancer Institute can offer more then can be done at Launceston.
Nov- December 2011
Peter Mac Cancer Institute
5 weeks of  Chemo and Radiation to treat the Cancer and shrink the Tumour.  The type of Chemo I had was pressure feed
24/7 through a Picc line in my arm, with the bottle being changed weekly.  The night before the first change was to take place
the Chemo caused major spasms to the main blood vessels to the heart and I ended up in Austin Hospital ER.  Later that day I had the
Chemo bottle removed and a day of Heart tests were conducted with no problems detected...Another Chemo bottle was connected
and within half an hour I was in Intensive care with the same spasm problem again.  Exhaustive test were again done on my heart with
no problems found so I was again fitted with the chemo bottle along with a skin patch to supposedly stop the spasm problem.. Worked for three days and then ended up in Austin Hospital ER again... Chemo was then abandoned altogether.

January 2012
More Pet scans, CT scans and Ultra sound.  Further Hot Spot found in Lymph Node on right Groin.
Confirmed Operation to remove the Prostate, Bladder and part of the tail bone will go ahead probably end Of February
early March.  Radiation during the operation is being considered. It will be an all day operation, only one per week can be scheduled so I have to "wait my turn"
Appointment to be made to meet with Plastic Surgeon, Anaesthetist, Colorectal Surgeon, Urologist, Radiologist  and anyone else who
wants to dip their fingers in during the operation ...  This to take place the week starting 13th of February 2012.  First appointment is Bone Marrow Biopsy ( CLL Chronic Lymphatic Leukaemia suspected ) Here is a link to check it out..  http://www.leukaemia.org.au/web/resources/pdf/2010_CLL_Booklet.pdf

Looks like that same appendage at lower groin will now only be for decoration...
www.mikesattler.com unless they slip during the Operation www.mikesattler.com I did suggest they could use it/them for filling the gap where they take the bladder instead of  using abdomen tissue as they have said will happen..

18th Febuary 2012
Well all my tests, poking, prying and all that shit was done in the past week. The bone marrow biopsy confirmed I have CLL ( Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia) but it will be a 'watch and wait' option for that problem at present. The conclusion is still for the big cut. Is to be a 12hr operation involving a number of different specialists including colorectal surgeon, urologist, Plastic surgeon, Radiology, Bone quack and anyone else who wants to dip their fingers in. They are a little concerned that my heart is not as good as it could be so between now and when it happens I have to see a cardiologist and perhaps have a heart pill to reduce the speed at which the ticker ticks and they want me to get as fit as I possibly can. Obviously that part is understandable. To achieve that by walking or jogging is going to cause a lot of pain from my Heel which I smashed from falling off a ladder in 2007. Sexual activity is out of the question, I haven't got a bike so riding is not on. Looks like more heel pain.
The Op is to remove the Prostate, Bladder, Tailbone and radiate around the area during the operation. The plastic surgeon will then detach the right side of the 'six pack' ab muscles leaving them connected at the bottom for blood supply. He will then toss them in the hole created by the removal of the bladder so all the intestines don't slosh around in the gap. The urostomy is then created from a portion of the small intestine and a stoma created on the right side of my abdomen where I will be able to attach the collection bag. Another one to compliment the colostomy one I have on the left side.
